Crazy Brain Is In Control

Does anyone else think Federal Jurisdiction and Civil Procedure are the two most boring topics in Barbri ever? I was so impatient by the last hour, I felt like I was going to literally jump out of my skin. I'm having kind of a crazy brain day anyway, mostly because I haven't been able to swim in 4 days. Oh yeah, did I mention that the filter in the pool at Bally's broke? They're waiting for a part and supposedly will have it fixed today. Cha! I'll believe that when I see it.

So during the last hour of class I kept thinking about how Federal Jurisdiction and Civil Procedure adds 68 more pages of information that I need to memorize and it bores me to tears to study and my brain is FULL! VERY FULL! I don't think I can take in anything else, and I still have 4 more days of lecture.

I'm feeling overwhelmed and vascillating between wanting to burst into tears or scream.

Logical Brain:
Realizes that my panicky state is only partly Bar-related. It's mostly about not being able to swim and being awash in PMS hormones.

Crazy Brain:
Thinks I will never memorize enough to pass the essay portion of the Bar, thus even if I get the job I have an interview for, I will be fired in November.

Hang in there, Kelly girl!! It's just that dark hour before the dawn!! And yes, civil procedure (based on my limited exposure) requires two toothpicks and some No-Doz. (toothpicks are for your eyelids, in case that was too obscure.)

Turns out those drivers in Boston really are bad:

http://www.cnn.com/2005/AUTOS/05/26/drivers_study/index.html

"The state of Rhode Island leads the nation in driver cluelessness, according to the survey. The average test score there was 77, just eight points above a failing grade.

Those in neighboring Massachusetts were second worst and New Jersey, third worst."

Civ Pro is the worst. I have no idea what Federal Jurisdiction is, but it sounds horrid!

Eve, thanks for commenting. It makes me feel better to know that I'm not just imagining that the last two days sucked royally. Fed Juris is just the Fed Rules of Civ Pro. Civ Pro is the Mass Rules. Basically, half the time today he said "It's just like the federal rule, except for 7 or 8 little exceptions." Annoying!

Oh and he kept telling us to "Hang a star on that" because it's what Mass likes to test on. Half my handout has a star hung on it.

Two sets of Civ Pro's - yikes! The humanity! CA is going to start testing CA Civ Pro and CA Evidence rules in 2007, I think. A big heap of un-fun for those people - or me, if I don't pass!!! :0
