Losing Weight

I have been battling my weight since I was 9 years old, mostly on the losing side. My metabolism and predilection for ice cream and dark chocolate continually conspire against me. However, since I moved to Boston I've lost 35 pounds (most of it since shedding my ex. Talk about dead weight ;) ). It's reached the point recently that I am getting lots of comments and my old clothing is no longer fitting me well. That's fabulous, of course, except for my lack of money to buy new clothes. Maybe if I start wearing my baggy sweatpants everywhere, one of my friends will nominate me for What Not To Wear, or write Oprah telling her about their sad sad friend who desperately needs a new wardrobe - and a trip to Italy - and maybe a convertible... I don't want to lose weight so guys will look at me - although that is a nice perk - but because it feels so good to try on cute clothes and say things like "Oh my gosh! I'm a Medium at Ann Taylor! Do you know how long it's been since I've been a Medium?!" Oh and yeah, health and wellness and feeling more mentally alert blah blah blah.

Lately I've become the unofficial spokeswoman for www.ediets.com, mostly because they're so practical in their approach to weight loss. Well, unless you do one of the extreme diets. But my mama always told me to eat my fruits and vegetables and whole wheat bread so I'm all about the balanced diet. They give you recipes, menus, and grocery lists. Well, not "give" since there is a monthly fee, but it's not much and is totally worth it in my mind. Since I am also a Dr. Phil acolyte (don't judge) I'm doing his plan and it's fabulous! The recipes are really yummy. Ex: today for lunch I'm having a Mediterranean Salmon Couscous Salad and an apple. How can you beat that? (Anyone who mentions New York Super Fudge Chunk will be summarily dismissed)

I'm thinking about this a lot today because I weighed myself at the gym and I've lost another couple of pounds despite the 4 day span of gluttony that was Thanksgiving weekend. Hooray!
