And now I'm hyperventilating.
No, just kidding, I'm fine.
Breathe in. Breathe out.
I'm moving to Boston in October. That gives me two more months of DC wages. In this process I think I've managed to freak out and probably anger my friend whose spot I was supposed to take in Virginia. I emailed her this morning and told her I'd be willing to help them find someone else and also to pay some money if we can't find someone until the middle of August (although I couldn't move in until then anyway, so I'm not exactly sure what they were expecting from me anyway by way of rent money for August). She sent back kind of a brusque reply and said that there are complications we'll talk about later. I hope that there isn't some weird landlord issue. I feel bad, but I told her I wouldn't leave her in the lurch and I won't.
Basically, this weekend has been so up and down. First I thought I would move to Boston, then maybe not, then maybe I would because I saw my friends who would be my roommates and it seemed like a good idea because they love me and are great. All my friends kept telling me to move back. Plus, I had a good time this weekend and by about my 3rd day straight with Jason I always realize what a pain it is to not be with him the majority of the time and how much I miss him and how it's just easier and more comfortable when we are together. Even with him in Providence, we'll still see each other much more often than now and one of us can pop north or south to see the other if we need to.
And I also had good customer service in downtown Boston while I was walking around all day yesterday. THAT NEVER HAPPENS. No, wait. It happened once before when I was in town trying to decide what law school to go to. Everyone was so polite. Gave me a false impression of Boston.
I met with 3 staffing agencies yesterday who are all swamped with contract work (which I would think would drive the pay rate up a little, but no). Maybe the crappy (and "crappy" is a VERY relative term here. I'd still be making more than I ever did during the first 29 years of my life) pay will be good motivation to really hunker down and find that real job. I also met with a local big firm health care attorney who gave me some good ideas on paths to pursue and people to contact.
So I'm actually doing it. I feel a little nauseous.

Yea! Well done! Congratulations!
Now stop thinking about it.
Stop!
Stop it, I say!
No, no, no!
Okay, that's bett... Stop it!
Alright, here: Compare and contrast the effect of the Civil War on the work of female authors in the late nineteenth century. Just think about that for the next three months or so. No more than 12 pages, please, not including bibliography.
Thank you.
T-K
So this means we have two months to hit the National Museum of the American Indian solely for the fry bread (since the museum itself is crap).
I thought I was the only person who went to the Museum of the American Indian solely for my navajo taco cravings.
Congrats on making a decision. I hope everything works out just great! :)
