All Stuffed Up

I keep having half ideas to blog about. Right now I have three unfinished drafts saved. I can't seem to make them go anywhere. The thoughts are not flowing because my head is completely stuffed up. I hate colds. How is it that I can go from feeling perfectly fine to feeling like utter crap in a matter of a couple of hours? Anyway, I'm going to watch something my new Replay (aka fake Tivo) recorded and crochet with my box of Kleenex nearby.

Here's some food for thought. I've been having networking appointments with people on The Hill and realizing a couple of things. First of all, I cannot work for free. Well, actually I realized that already, but I don't think anyone in government who might think of hiring me for some menial job or just let me hang around their office and soak up the atmosphere understands that I cannot work for free. And since I have no Hill experience, I'm basically not qualified for any of the jobs that might pay more than say $20,000 a year.

Second, there are a lot of people in this world with huge massive amounts of career ambition and clear ideas of where they want to be in 5, 10, 15 years. I'm not one of these people. These are the people who are going to get the hard to come by and highly-coveted jobs. I just want to be normal, I don't need to be extraordinary with lots of power.

So I think what I'm really looking at is a desire to get a job at a firm and pay down my debt and live that kind of life, you know, not saving the world. I'll save the world when I'm 50. Right now, all I want is to make some hefty payments to the credit card companies (versus just the minimums) and still have enough for an occasional foray to Target.

On a lighter note:

Pretty roses from the boy.

Stupid. Blogger. Is still. Cutting off. The comment section. On. Your. Previous. Post.

(That's me speaking slowly to suppress my rage)

Anyway, my comment was going to be: Wow! I don't suppose he has a brother or anything. . .?

Which would've seemed far more clever if it was attached to the correct post, I promise.

2 brothers even! but one has a girlfriend, and the other is too young for you.

Hah! I knew it! I knew you had a boyfriend! (Well, 'knew' in the sense that I suspected when you started talking about maybe moving back to Boston.) Either way, I'm a genius.

And I'm also about thisclose to killing people because the post cut off before it was done! Why does this only happen to you???

Dag nabit!

That's ok. As I seem to recall from High School, Mormon Moms have seriously mixed feelings about me dating their sons anyway (they tend to love me, but distrust my rampant papism).

The boy helped me figure out that there's something about Internet Explorer and my blog that doesn't mix. I downloaded Firefox and can see the whole blog AND all the comments. It took like 2 minutes and Firefox downloads all the IE Favorites and everything. When I get a real job, I'll switch to Typepad or something. Blogger was ticking me off last night anyway because it wasn't uploading pictures properly.

Jordan, sorry about the brother situation. Maybe there's a cousin or something...? I can't guarantee they'll be as Cool Mormon as the boy though (I really need to come up with a name for him)

Nemesis, well look at you Miss Smarty-Pants.

And HOW is the spam commentary getting through my filter? Annoying!

boy,

You should come up with a name for yourself for the blog world. :)

ok, let's see...
I could be Rock Strongo. no wait, that's too obviously fake. how about Lance Uppercut?

I feel like I insulted his manhood by calling him the boy and now he's overcompensating. Although Lance just by itself is not a very manly name.

They ruined all our best names like Bruce and Lance and Julian. Those were the toughest names we had!

I've just been informed that the names were a Simpsons reference, proving once again that my Simpsons knowledge pales in comparison to the boy's. And I thought I was a fan.

Did I mention that we're really really cool?

How about Cliff Beefpile, Sledge Riprock, Tank Concrete, Bronc Drywall, Stump Hugelarge, Chunk Pylon, Chunk Manmusk, Sledge Fisthammer, Clint Stompheader, Chuck Hardslab,or Chunk Ironchest.

These are just a few suggestions from some friends at MST3K.

Well, thats lame. I made a comment post and now it's removed.

What happened to freedom of speach? And no it was not comment spam.

Kelly, Beautiful roses BTW!

DFG, sorry, but it looked like spam to me. And freedom of speech is limited here since it's my blog, after all. You can say what you want, but I reserve the right to delete it if I feel like it. Of course, if I just went around deleting everyone's comments willy-nilly then soon I'd have no readers left, so I try to be disriminating.
