This blog is kind of becoming my "show everyone who isn't on Ravelry what I've knitted lately" blog. But this morning a friend of mine sent me an adorable picture of her daughter in the sweater I knitted, so I just have to share:
Adorable, right? I also made her a little hat. This is a yarn called Paton's Beehive Chunky and it is a super soft acrylic. After making this sweater, I stocked up the next time Jo-Ann had a sale. It is SO soft!
(Since I have my own wool allergies, I usually make baby stuff out of acrylic just in case baby is allergic too. That way my hands don't itch, and neither does baby.)
I made this sweater over Christmas for one of my counselors in Young Womens.
The gauge on this is pretty small (size 4 needles, for the knitters). Usually I shy away from finer knitwork because I just don't have the patience for it, but we watched a lot of movies with my parents over the holidays and it was the perfect time to knit something more time-intensive.
Finally, I whipped up this little cowl for myself after going for a walk with a friend on a cold and blustery day. I commented that I would love to have a cowl because my neck was cold, but I didn't want to go all out with a scarf. She knits as well and said, "You could knit one up today!"
She was right.
