I'm right with you girl! I'm trying to get OUT of the 200's I've gone from 256 in 2007 to my current weight of 235. I cannot wait to see the 190's again!!
Hey Kelly, I think your new years goals are well thought out and will be reasonably executed! That's much more than I can say for some of mine. I'm a realist, but my goals tend not to be very realistic. :) I ususally make far too many to be humanly possible. I think I need to narrow them down a bit. But I'm sure you can do it! You have my support!
Thanks again BTW for your and Jason's explanations & help with the server the other day!!! It was a "work saver" for me. It was sputtering a little the first day, but seems to be working just fine now after I bumped it on the ground a few times (my way of repairing electronics...shake them up a bit and they work just fine!). :) I wish I were more techy... Here's keeping the fingers crossed!
Joanne, yeah, I find it's good to have one main goal to focus on. I know I have other goals, of course, but those are sort of on the periphery right now. And I hope the router keeps working
Really great plan, Kell, and you are right that things work best when the whole household is in on the deal. I lost 63 in 2007 and my hubby lost 50 our goals are to keep on going so that we can get to a weight that is healthy and comfortable for us (not a chart some where)! I really applaud everyone who every day chugs through the struggle to attain better health. Good going.
I'm so silly, I know, but I can't help being tickeled that one of the commenters is advising you to drink coffee as part of a weight loss plan. First because it doesn't work (if it did, I wouldn't be swearing quite so loudly at my own scale of late) and second because--hello? Coffee?
You know what else is awesome for weight loss? Smoking. And straight bourbon. And Catholicism.
Jordan -- First, I suggested it as a way to get off soda. Second, I take it you haven't actually read much about coffee? I didn't say it was a weight loss miracle drug, but are you really comparing it to smoking? Seriously?
heather: I'm sorry if I miss interpreted, but to quote you:
"Coffee (black) is actually how my mom lost some weight. It's a natural appetite suppressant -- if I nurse a cup or two in the morning, I definitely notice myself less hungry at lunch time."
As a massive coffee addict, I can vouch for the fact that that might work for awhile, but not in the long term--like any appetite suppressant (and/or diuretic, which is probably why your mom actually lost the weight) your body gets innured to its effects pretty quickly.
Second, the reason the coffee comment tickled me in the first place is because it seems like an odd recommendation to make to someone who--as Kelly is--is LDS, and as such prohibited from its consumption. That's why I made the comparison not only to cigarettes (also prohibited), but also to bourbon and Catholicism. The last, at the very least, should have been a tip off that I was being tongue in cheek.

Happy 2008!
Amy, good job with the 21 pounds so far!

Kelly, did I read you wrong, or didn't you say you drank caffeine? And nothing aside from changing your diet habits will work long term, of course.
