Nano

If I'm a very good girl this year I might have an iPod Nano waiting for me under the Christmas tree.

My 40GB iPod has finally and officially bitten the dust. Actually it most likely just needs a new hard drive (apparently a common problem with that generation of iPods), which will cost about $150. The thing is, the iPod has been a great companion, but I think I want something a little more compact now, particularly when it comes to taking it to the gym.

The question is color. I haven't made it to an Apple store lately and am not sure when I will have a chance to in the next couple of weeks. I thought I might want the green based on the pictures on the packaging on the Nanos at Costco, but then I looked on the Apple site and the green is all in your face bright pastel seafoam green. It looked more subtle on the package.

So I think red might be the thing, but on the website it looks like a kind of pinky red, which I don't want. Can someone who has seen the red Nano in person tell me if it is a good, true red?

Santa thanks you for your help.

I went on a scouting mission to the Apple store last week to look at nano colors to pick one out for my brother (I wanted to order online to get free engraving). The silver looks a little pale and weird. The blue and green both look too pastel and washed out for my tastes. I think they'd both look better if they were a bit more vibrant. The red has a better level of color saturation, but it is more of a burgundy, which is fairly nice, but too girlie for my brother. It isn't as red as the previous generation red nano, which I own. I ended up settling on the black one for him. If I were in the market for one for me, I'd go with the red one.

How weird! I'm just back from Best Buy with a little blue iPod nano for husby, who was very good this year. (Esp with all the whining I've been doing lately!) Can't speak to color, but I did like the blue, and the green was a bit too seafoamy and girlie.
Miss your bloggin! JennM

I have the "blue" one, and it's a seafoam green in real life. I love it! I had a really hard time picking a color too, because I loved the silver. But, I went for the "blue" because green is my favorite color.

The red is kind of a lighter red, but it's still nice.

Well, we just upgraded our phones ("free every two" program with VZ)and MLM got a Moto Razr KRZR K1m in red which she really likes a lot. Anyway, she wants a red Nano to go with it. Good idea, huh?

I'm getting a iPod shuffle from Santa. I went with blue. My regular iPod works well -but it's too big to workout with, so I understand your needs.

Gosh, I haven't stopped by your blog in forever. I love the look.

Do you know how I can find out what generation my iPod is?

The red is a nice solid red. Not too flashy and not pink at all. I love mine.
