Jason and I are getting married!
In October. I love October! It's the perfect Autumn in New England month and I'm hoping for nice weather because Autumn in New England can also be really rainy and blah. The wedding is 10 days after my birthday, 2 days after my parents' anniversary, 6 days after my uncle's birthday and 1 day after my late Nana's birthday. All reasons why October has always been my favorite month, even when I didn't live in New England. Not to mention the apples and the pumpkins and foods tinged with nutmeg and cinnamon and cloves.
The plans have been in progress since around Memorial Day. I have a dress, we know where we're having the ceremony and reception, we're pretty sure which caterer we're going with*, I found a flower wholesaler, I have 1 maid of honor and 1 bridesmaid so far, family and friends are coming from far and wide.
We need a cake and a photographer. On the cheap. Any recommendations in the Boston area?

*Had a tasting last week. The food was great and the caterer is really nice and pulled together her own wedding on a strict budget five years ago. She has lots of ideas for me.

Congratulations!!!!! I'm so happy for you both!! I wish you many many many many years of happiness... and a few more on top of that! Congrats again!
The DLB and I have been in throes of wedding planning stages. Our date is in June (6/7/08 - easy to remember for anniversaries!) so of course we have to do everything about 100 months early since everyone is booked. We've been at it for a few months now, and already I'm burned out. I'd still love to hear some of the caterer's tips, though... :)
Congratulations again!
Yay!
Try somewhere in the North End for cake? Italians are always the best bakers (it's how we make up for never having won a war, ever).
that picture is adorable!
Shuttup, yay! Yay for weddings! I'm so excited for you!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
i really am excited for the both of you! Very cute picture! I wish I could be there, I don't think my doctor will let me travel that close to my due date...bummer! Congrats and good luck!
Love ya Sister!!
HUZZAH!!!
Can I sing in the choir?
Congrats!
Ditto on the North End cake suggestion. The cake was the only good thing at a certain wedding your future s-i-l "attended". (More like "waitressed".)
Congratulations! Too bad I'm not in the Boston area, or I'd do it for you on the cheap (which is how I have always done them). And hey, if you flew me to Boston, I'd do it for free. :D
Actually, I'm serious, if you could fly me out to Boston for cheaper than your cheap-end Boston photographers, consider it. October would be a nice time for a vacation. Have you seen my portfolio lately? It's at http://norroway.thelemur.net/view_album.php?set_albumName=portfolio.
Eve, that's so exciting that you're planning too! Things book quickly here too, but with only a 4 1/2 month timeline, it sure helped to narrow down locations. Free October 20th? No? Moving on.
Jordan and Miss Hass, of course, the North End! Might be pricey, I'll have to check it out.
Angie, thanks! I only post the cute ones. There are about 47 in that set where one or both of us looks stupid. I hope we find a patient wedding photographer.
Nem and k8, thanks!
PB, I wish you guys could come too, but I'm excited to hear all about the new baby when he/she comes!
Kristine, I think that's mandatory.
Miss Hass, if that's who I'm thinking of I also got asked to waitress, but was out of town.
Stacy, I just sent you an email on your hotmail account
Wonderful news! Would love to hear the story about how he proposed.
Warm wishes,
Meredith
Congrats! Very much!
(Um, maybe you could send some of the wedding vibes MY way?)
;)
Congratulations! John and I are very happy for you. Send details my way ...
Congratulations!!!
