The people I'm working for now are a hoot. I'll explain more once I can get on my computer at home again.
Here's something that I really believe is true: you work to people's expectations. In my last job I was coddled and led around, doing menial tasks, with my boss overexplaining and double-checking everything. Here, they've kind of thrown me into the deep end and expected me to swim. So far, I've come through. And because they know my credentials and trust me, I'm in charge of a couple of projects and once they hire the permanent secretary I'll be doing more substantive work.

Kelly!
Additional pun-nishment for you, about being thrown into the deep end by your current employer.
Double splash to the face, girly.
I'm guessing the boss there is thinking overtime about how to keep you on full-time.
Kelly is about to catch on full-time in DC!
Ooo, that sounds nice, Jim. Thanks for the encouragement!
