Lights Go Out

I had been sitting in Panera for all of an hour when the power went out. Just completely out. And none of the staff looked very perturbed. They just kind of glanced around with looks like, "Huh. Whatever." on their faces and continued serving pastries and sandwiches to the people who were still in line. The internet still worked thankfully so I continued working, figuring I'd stop when my battery ran out, which doesn't take very long these days. Then it started getting hot in there. You know, September, northern Virginia, confined space. So I looked online for a different Panera with lovely Wifi and discovered there is another one equidistant from my apartment. In the opposite direction, but equidistant nonetheless.

Imagine my delight when I pulled into this shopping center and discovered the local Trader Joe's (cue choir of angels). I am all about the cheap yumminess. I just sent out several more resumes and made an appointment with another staffing agency for next week and now I'm heading over to TJ's. I'm hoping that it is better than the one in Cambridge, though I dare not hope it's as good as the one in Santa Cruz. Santa Cruz has the nirvana of Trader Joe's.

Are you living near Bailey's Crossroads? I ask b/c I live near there - my Panera has a Trader Joe's in the same shopping center (along with a Best Buy.)

I am there a lot, too! Try the queso at "Moe's" in that shopping center...you won't be disappointed!
